Microsoft is now the most valuable company in the world with a market value of $850 billion.
This figure pushes Microsoft past rivals Apple for the first time in six years.
Apple has been struggling with falling prices and a drop in product patronage in recent years.
It’s latest IPhones have failed to win over consumers as was expected.
Having earlier failed in breaking the global ceiling through some failed projects – Windows vista system and the disastrous acquisition of of phone maker Nokia – Microsoft is reaping massive profits through the successful adaptation of cloud services by clients.
So far Microsoft shares have risen by 29% this year.
In August Apple became the first company to hit a trillion-dollar valuation , but fears over iPhone sales combined with a wider market sell-off has hit shares.
