Brainiacs Women in STEM Network in an initiative of Brainiacs STEM & Robotics to encourage Women and Girls to study and build careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The network will bring women across Nigeria to discuss issues and challenges facing Women and girls in this important field required for the development of our nation.
To keep the momentum following a successful meet-up in 3rd quarter of 2016, Brainiacs WinSTEM Initiative is partnering with Startup Arewa, Colab Kaduna, Network of incubators and innovators (NiiNe), Jamuje, WTech, GDG KASU, and Dialogue Computer Institute to hold another important session to help girls in schools and women appreciate the application of STEM in their daily lives.
The session will hold at the prestigious Colab Kaduna, located at No 4, Barnawa Close, Barnawa, on 13th May 2017 by 10am prompt. Miss Joyce Kasim will anchor the meet-up while key note address will be provided by Aisha Amoka who is the [Interim National Coordinator of Brainiacs Women in STEM.
The meet-up will discuss career guidance to help girls select and pursue a successful career in STEM. For women that have already graduated, the meet-up will highlight ways science and technology could be applied to not only create wealth but also improve the education and wellbeing of the family.
Brainiacs WinSTEM Initiative and supporting organizations believe this effort will go a long way on supporting the global push towards gender equality and poverty eradication in line with sustainable development goals.
Brainiacs Women in STEM Network is organizing a second Meet-up for Women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in Kaduna. This event is designed for girls in secondary schools to come and listen and be inspired to join stem, undergraduates who are seeking for guides on how to progress with their course of study, Graduates and workers who want to progress in their line of career.
