Nigeria’s FinTech scene is now attracting global attention as tech start-ups Flutterwave and Riby have been listed among the best 50 emerging fintech companies in the world.
This fact was revealed in the annual Fintech 100 report compiled by KPMG and H2 Ventures.
For Flutterwave, this listing confirms its rising profile in changing financial activities within the Nigerian and African space.
It will be recalled that the fintech company recently landed investment worth $10million from global brand mastercard; having earlier netted $20million investments from other companies in its series A funding round.
Flutterwave profers provides cooperatives, company groups, employees, individuals, associations, and financial development institutions with solutions to manage their financial activities.
Riby, another Nigerian finance platform also made the top 50 due to quality service that allows customers to access efficient financial services and better financial management.
The 2 year-old startup now boasts of over 1 million on its cooperative banking system.
The listing of Flutterwave and Riby is a reflection of the giant strides Nigerians are making in changing the face of financial services.
A 2017 survey carreid out by globaly renowned financial consultancy Pricewater Coopers (PwC) projects that by 2020, investment in Africa’s FinTech sector will be worth $3 Billion, with Nigeria attracting a bulk of the investment share
