Google trends: Nassarawa loves web design, Osun leans towards mobile apps

Residents of Nassarawa state have shown the highest interest amongst Nigerians in web design.

But for mobile apps development, Osun state stands out within the same 2017/18 period.

These facts were gleaned by Technopreneur’s data analysis team from google trends.

These data sets were compared between August 2017 and July 2018.

Google trends analysis shows that for the period in question, Nasarawa state residents used google search engines to seek greater knowledge on web design with a score of 100.

Borno state came a close second scoring 87, while Ekiti hit a score of 70 to place third.

An analyst who spoke to Technopreneur anonymously said the keen interest shown by residents in Nasarawa state might not be unconnected with the high population of school students and civil servants.

According to him, due to the rising cost of accommodation in the neighbouring federal capital Abuja, most civil servants have relocated to Nasarawa state; while the huge student population in the popular Nasarawa state university has created a massive pool of young graduates – many of whom have seen web design as a critical skill for maximizing prospects in the Abuja labour market.

Another check by Technopreneur through google trends revealed that interest in mobile apps was highest amongst residents of Osun state with a score of 100, edging Anambra state to second with a score of 99.

Rivers state came a distant third scoring 30.
