MISEDI Empowerment Initiative for Africa is a non-profit, organization for social development. empowering women entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship capacity building engendered from the MISEDI network of Women in a Business platform (NOWIB) that aims to connect women to local and international market opportunities.
They had the first edition of their Entrepreneurship/Export Development summit with several women entrepreneurs trained and equipped to be able to produce exportable products and services in partnership with the Nigeria export promotion council.
This year (2022), the MISEDI Women Summit plans to increase its reach to empower 500 (five hundred) women startups to achieve the same objective of leveraging local market and financial opportunities for international market access.
The summit will be 5-days that includes 3 days for practical business skills acquisition training and the main event is scheduled to take place on 29th – 30th June 2022 at the NEPC Auditorium, Nigerian Export House Plot 424, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria.
The summit/workshop will provide women the opportunity to learn hands-on skills for establishing and setting up a business enterprise to enable women be self-reliant. MISEDI will have facilitators from the private sector, MDAs, and the international community.

The theme for the 2nd edition of the MISEDI Women Entrepreneurship Summit/Workshop is: Empowering Women-Owned Businesses for International Standards and Export Market – Harnessing Local Opportunities.
The schedule of events are as follows:
25th, 27th, and 28th June 2022 – Skills Acquisition workshop/training in spices, fruit concentrate, and herbal tea for the export market and Cosmetology.
29th June 2022 – Main Summit and Exhibition
30th June 2022 – Practical Workshop for Access to Export Market and Access to Finance.
participating women owned businesses will be signed up with e-commerce platforms for international market and provided with access to finance by pitching to potential investors and financiers. Women with products that requires regulatory certifications will be supported to obtain regulatory registration (SON, NAFDAC and FDA) to meet standards for export.
