It’s another StartUpFiday and the venue is Tahir Guest Palace, Kano, Kano State.
StartUpFriday is an initiative of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) that gives emerging Nigerian tech startups the opportunity to pitch their inventions to would-be investors.
It has been a massive scenario in the ancient City of Kano as techies have taken advantage to make themselves felt.
From agric startups to health providers, the StartUpFriday Kano edition has had all the trappings of a silicon valley meet-up!
Dr. Isa Pantami, the chief executive of NITDA said Nigerian technology startups are attractive venture for global investors seeking early stage companies that are viable commercially and have quick profit returns in the emerging markets.
Some of the participants who commented at the event expressed their satisfaction in the government’s effort toward developing the start-ups ecosystem.
“In today’s world, entrepreneurs are the promising income and am glad to be part of this tech changers and stakeholders event,” Ajeed Yunusa said .
Another participant, BabangidaRuma said “I am delighted to be part of SUF Kano and I hope to meet young entreprenuers,technologists to connect and share common sense gospel together.”
Ten of the ICT start-ups who registered for the event where given opportunity to pitch their businesses.
The start-ups will be encouraged by the agency through grants to support their businesses.
This is the 11th edition of SUF for ICT start-ups in Kano and within the North West Zone, with the theme “Understanding North West Tech Ecosystem”.
Certificate Presentation and Cash Price Awards were made to participating Startups that pitched during the 11th Edition of StartUPFriday.
