Come December 11, all roads will lead to Lagos for the second Startup Battlefield Africa – courtesy of TechCrunch.
This year’s event will attract Africa’s best innovators, makers and technical entrepreneurs who are expected to highlight how technology is optimizing supply chains, increasing access to education, strengthening farmer’s revenues.
Startup Battlefield Africa will showcase 15 teams competing in three preliminary rounds — five startups per round.
Each team will have only six minutes to pitch and present a live demo to a panel of expert technologists and VC investors.
Five of the original 15 startups will be chosen to pitch a second time to a fresh set of judges.
The winners will take home $25,000 USD in no-equity cash plus a trip for two to compete in Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch’s flagship event, Disrupt in 2019.
Some of the judges and speakers expected include:
- Omobola Johnson former minister of communications technology and currently a Senior Partner with TLcom Capital Partners
- Jason Njoku, Founder and CEO, iROKOtv
- Olugbenga Agboola, CEO & Co-founder, Flutterwave
- Tahira Dosani, Managing Director, Accion Venture Lab; and lot’s more.
